Lately, Griffin has been saying 'dadadadada' all day long. I don't know if this is technically his first word, but Jonas seems quite satisfied that it is. Ok, I'll give him this one. He has also been saying a lot of 'gggggggggg's'. I wonder if it's because his name starts with a G and he often hears that sound? In any case, it's so adorable to hear him babbling! I absolutely love it when he crawls around (or whatever he is doing), constantly saying 'dadadada'. We have tried to get him to do 'mamamama' but the M sound does not seem to come as easily for him.
Jonas and I cannot wait for him to start talking. I guess this is what every parent dreams of. We see Griffin often trying to communicate to us with his eyes, but all of us get a bit frustrated at not being able to interpret things sometimes. When we were at the parent/tot drop-in on the weekend, a father there was telling us how he was so glad that his 19 month old daughter was finally able to talk. He said he felt SUCH relief that he no longer had to play the guessing game, and that she could just tell him verbally what her needs are. I have to admit, if Griffin could talk right now, things would be a whole lot easier. But for now, I will settle on hearing the musical sound of 'dadada'.
