In three days, our darling boy will be 4 months old! Already surpassing the 16 week old mark. What an absolute delight and joy he is to be around, and so much fun! Despite continuous chomping of his hand (we suspect teething is the reason) and discomfort of his gums, he never fails to put on a happy face for us.
The changes in him appear very frequently now. It seems that he is learning a new skill, or discovering something new almost every day or every other day. He is VERY alert now, and I am thrilled to report that he seems to love being stimulated. Only a few short weeks ago when we tried to visit Santa, he could only stay awake for one hour. Now, he is eager to be awake on our outings, and stares at everything with wide eyes. Every morning, I take him to our front window, and he is absolutely giddy with excitement to stare out and see the world.
Milestones:
Rolling over- still no sign of this yet. But we have not given up, and he STILL spends a great deal of time in his crib trying to do this. However, he has somehow managed to maneuver his way around the crib where I often find him in a completely different position from how we put him down for his sleeps.
Grabbing things- he is now learning to grab things. If I hold a rattle in front of him, he will take an interest in it and reach out for it. He also seems to love touching things, and we catch him touching our pillows. He also has taken to holding his bottle, with help from us.
Laughing- since his first giggles, he is laughing out loud more frequently. Easily, one of the best sounds in the world I have ever heard. It is soooooo cute, we do everything we can to hear that little squeal of delight. Sometimes, he will make himself laugh when he babbles away to himself.
His first word- this probably does not count, and I don't even think he realizes he is saying this, but Griffin often says 'ok'. Of course, I like to think that he does know what he is saying. He often repeats this word after we say it to him.
Griffin is growing tons now. He is already wearing clothes 6-9 months old, and appears very long. We haven't weighed him in a while, but will do so on our next visit with the doc. He is growing up right before my very eyes, and is becoming this little human being! I treasure this time with him more than anything, and love seeing the world through his eyes.
