Well, 12 weeks have come and gone. On December 9th, our little boy will be officially three months old. We feel like he is growing up so quickly now! And now it does make us a bit sad to remember how he was a few months ago. The things he used to do back then, he no longer does. He is almost too big now for the pillow that we use to feed him on. And he no longer wants to be held the same way as he used to. We are always trying to find new ways to carry him.
Everybody kept telling us that things would be easier by three months. And they definitely have been. We are not as overwhelmed, and we actually find ourselves with some free time again. We have been able to go back to doing the things we love to do, and maintaining more balance. Jonas caught me reading a book the other night, and asked me if I ever imagined I would be reading anytime soon. And I honestly didn't. Not long ago, I couldn't even imagine picking up a book again to read. And it does help that we are back to sleeping again. I don't think I will ever take sleep for granted! I am sure that we will have many sleepless nights in our future. But for now, Griffin is sleeping soooo much better. He is in bed anytime between 8-10pm, wakes up for one feeding, and then up again around 5, 6 or 7 am for his next feeding and then a nap again until about 9. It has definitely been more manageable.
Milestones- still cooing, and babbling tons. He loves the sound of his voice, and loves chatting away to us. He also likes to chat to his chair.
- still smiling tons. We love his smile, but can't wait to hear his first giggle! Sometimes, we think he is trying to laugh, but no sound emerges. But his mouth is open wide when he is truly delighted with something.
- attempting to roll over. He has been desparately attempting to roll over for over a week now. He is always trying! During tummy time, he keeps lifting his head and little legs up at the same time, making a rocking motion, and is trying to figure out how to go over. He will do this for a long time, it seems. Such a determined little guy!
- he is now in his big boy bed. By this, I mean no more co-sleeping and successfully sleeping in his crib! It really was not that big of a transition. I don't think he even notices the difference, just as long as he has somewhere to sleep.
We didn't think it was possible for Griffin to be any cuter, but he is. It seems that the more days that go by, the more adorable he is. It is so amazing to see the daily changes in him. I'm sure every parent does this, but I can't help but gush about him! I don't think I will ever stop!

I still can't believe the little guy is already three months! And I laughed at the image of Griffin chatting to his chair. They're pretty indiscriminate when it comes to who or what they babble and coo to :)
ReplyDeleteHappy 3 months, Griffin-baby! You are much loved from central Canada. xoxo
