Griffin's New Favorite Things

As of lately, we have noticed Griffin taking a shine to a few different things. Here is a list (in no particular order) of some of his new favorite things.

- His tent, a present from Yi-yi. This tent has been sitting in our living room for the past two months. It's kind of cool, like camping in our house. Griffin loves to go in there for 'alone' time. His version of 'alone time' is about 10 seconds, but it's still cute to catch him in there chilling out.
- A toy hammer. This toy hammer goes almost everywhere with him. He even takes it into the bath with him.
- His soccer ball, golf ball and little green ball. He loves them all. The golf ball is one of his newest and latest prize possessions, taken from Po-po's house. He loves to roll the soccer ball, and he enjoys bouncing the soccer ball and green ball on our furniture.
- Baby Einstein dvd's. Yes, Griffin does know what they are because we let him watch them (gasp!) We probably win a lot of bad parent awards for letting our son watch tv. But in all honesty, these dvd's have been hugely helpful to us when administering Griffin's twice daily nebulizer treatments. Griffin has an extremely difficult time sitting still for ANYTHING. These dvd's have been the only thing that have held his attention while we hold the mask to his face, and wait for the treatments to end. Sometimes a parents gotta do what a parents gotta do.
- Music, music and music. Boy, this kid loves music. Still have yet to get him on video dancing. But anytime he hears music, he busts a move. Before, his dance just encompassed bouncing up and down. Now, he raises his little fists in the air too.
- His books. We have really noticed Griffin taking an avid interest in books. We have a stack that we put on his play mat in the living room. He will pick them up, open them and study the pictures.
- Bath time. He does like getting baths, thank goodness. But he still does not like to sit still for them, and often tries to stand up in the bath tub. Not a good thing to do for a little baby and a slippery tub.
- Griffin could survive on a diet of bananas, sweet potatoes or yams, cheerios and oranges (his new favorite fruit).
- He has developed (or discovered) a love of climbing. Up and down, up and down he goes. He constantly climbs up on our sofa, then climbs down, climbs up and then climbs down. He tries to climb anything actually. We always see him with one leg propped up in the air, ready to climb (even if it's too high.)
- His beloved Baby Bjorn. Gosh, we've had this bjorn since he was way small. And to be honest, he is starting to be way small now for it. We still use it because he loves it. But we think he is pretty maxed out in weight to be using it anymore. Plus, when I take him out in it, I get comments about him being too big for it by strangers.
- Being raised in the air by Daddy. Good thing Daddy has some big guns, so he can raise Griffin up and down in the air. This is always met with excited laughter.

It's very interesting to see the things that excite Griffin now. I remember the days when he used to love his Exersaucer, Jumperoo and reading stories in bed with us. Now it seems he has outgrown some of the things he used to love, once again a reminder of how big he is getting.
