Squirmy baby

Yesterday was our now bi-weekly checkup with the good doc. All went well, baby's heartbeat is good, my weight is good (25 lbs gained to date)and Baby Ng seems to be slowly descending into the labour position. My OB could feel the head is moving down near my pelvis, which is pretty much what Jonas and I predicted. We predicted this because I can constantly feel the feet now, jabbing me in the ribs on the right side, and then we can feel a large bump on my left side where we predicted the head was. I don't think the baby has anymore room inside of me anymore, as it is constantly squirming around. Last night, I was so uncomfortable with the squirming, that I had to get up and go for a walk outside for a while. It seemed the only way to calm the baby down, and sure enough, by the time I returned home, it had settled quite a bit.

I'm finding my mood to be more quiet these days, and introspective. I'm not sure what it means, but it's been lingering for the past couple of weeks. It could be a hormonal thing, as I have heard other pregnant women have felt this way, particularly nearing the end of pregnancy. I don't necessarily find it to be a negative thing, but I find it interesting as it almost feels like I am in my own little world.

  1. Dear Wendy,
You are in your own little world, as is baby. In less than two months, baby will come out and meet the world, and you will be there with him/her, with Jonas welcoming you both with open arms and fond heart.
    How exciting!
    Love,
    Mom.
