Our Little Peanut

Today, Jonas and I went to get my very first ultrasound. The experience was very exciting as it made everything all the more 'real' to see it on a screen. It's amazing what technology can do these days. The technician was able to zoom in and point out the pregnancy sac, the yolk (which some may confuse as another embryo, but no twins here!) and then she pointed out our little one! Right now, it looks just like a little peanut all nestled in very comfortably in the sac. Although we weren't able to hear the heartbeat, we were able to SEE it fluttering! Nothing made me more proud than to see that little heartbeat fluttering and staying strong. So far, everything looks normal, and I couldn't be more relieved. However, I have thought all this time that I am at 8 weeks. Apparently, I am a week behind. During the ultrasound, she was able to detect that I am actually 7 weeks and 2 days. That means an extra week of nausea, but what's a week? I wish I could post the ultrasound picture, but it is much too large and probably too grainy to see. Pictures to come soon though, I promise!
