Amir and Tabitha are two friends of ours that are very near (not geographically, as they live in Ottawa!) and dear to us. Jonas met Amir during his early University days and have always stayed close and in touch. I had the good fortune to meet Amir and Tabitha (well I met Amir before that) two Christmases ago when they spent some time in Vancouver and stayed with us. Amir is like a brother to Jonas, and I felt like Tabitha was a person that I was always destined to have in my life.
The lives of the four of us always seemed to be in sync and parallel to each other. We courted around the same time, got engaged around the same time, got married within a month of each other, and now expecting our first children within two months of each other! When Amir and Tabitha told us that they were expecting back in December, we were instantly delighted. They are two of the warmest, most welcoming, loving people you will ever meet. We made a promise to them that if we ever got pregnant, we would not wait for the traditional three month mark and tell them sooner. Last night, we made good on our promise and had a very exciting phone call with them to tell them our news. Of course their reaction was what we expected, and more. The bond between the four of us was already so tight, but now that we are both planning families, it has made it even stronger. We are eagerly speaking of our children becoming fast friends, and cannot wait to plan vacations together. We are so excited to take this next journey in life with them, and to have our child know Uncle Amir and Auntie Tabitha.

This is Jonas' mom:
ReplyDeleteWhen Jonas told us that he has good news to share with us, I instantly said, "Wendy is pregnant!" We were overjoyed!
This is the third time that I tried to post a comment, I hope that this works.
It was said that having a grandchild changes people, well, this great news certainly changes our outlook in life. Can't believe that we will be grandparents soon. Always like to give an advice or two, I told Jonas and Wendy that they should treasure the "couple time" now, as once the baby is born, their lives will be changed forever! It is to be responsible for another human being and love him/her more than anyone else in the world.
We are so glad that Jonas and Wendy have two "soul mates" in Amir and Tabitha, and their first kids will be only a few months apart. I can already imagine the six of them having a great time together!
