Our little guy is already nine days old, and we can already tell how mature he is getting! By this, I mean to say that he is far less fussy, and just a miracle baby to have. Jonas and I seem to have found a rhythm and routine. Our lives are consumed of this: feed the baby, burp the baby, change the baby, put baby back in crib to sleep. When it's daytime, we try to keep him up a bit longer and play and coo with him. Right now, Griffin loves to be wide awake at night, but sleep all day long. We are trying to get him a bit adjusted to knowing the difference between day and night. We do this by dimming the lights at night, and when it comes to 4:00 am feedings, not to turn the tv on or lights. This seems to help a bit.
In a way, this is an easy stage for babies. The only thing that really makes Griffin cry is a wet diaper, when he is hungry, or when he just wants to be cuddled and wants extra TLC. That last one is sometimes a bit harder to distinguish, but once we place him on our chest, his cries diminish. He is also used to his crib now, and sleeping alone in it. He was resistant at first, but now he goes in there willingly. Jonas and I have still been able to maintain the same sort of normalcy that we had before. We watch tv together in the evening, and I have been able to get dinner on the table at a relatively decent hour.
We are fascinated with every little inch of him, and still pinch ourselves. He is so teeny tiny, that I feel like I have to have this time with him ingrained in my memory. He will grow up so quickly, and I'm not sure that I am ready for that yet!
I have had several requests to post some pictures of him. I promise to post some soon, but right now, the only pictures we have are of him in the hospital. We would like to get some of happier occasions, and not when he is in NICU.

He is the most adorable little bean! He may be a night owl for now but soon, he'll figure out the day/night protocol :)
