Prepping For Fall

I can't believe that I am uttering these words in mid August, but it's true. I am prepping for fall. It seems that once you have a child, these words take on new meaning. You are not in school yet, but I'm prepping like you are! I've started cooking up a storm, and freezing batches of food for winter. I've looked at the community centers and started signing you up for classes, just to occupy yourself while Mumma is at work. Incidentally, we have signed you up for a music class that you will attend to with Daddy once I can no longer take you. And you are barely one year old! I wonder if I'm going to be one of those types of mothers that signs their kids up for everything once they get older?? But I promise, I won't be that way. I have yet to weed out your clothes that are too small, but that will come soon on the list. And we already have a good start on your fall wardrobe (courtesy of Ma-ma who bought you some gorgeous outfits).

Fall is my second favorite season. I love fall with the smells, and the beautiful leaves. There is just something so cozy about it. We already have some fall activities planned out, that we thought you were too young for last year. There is the Apple Festival (which I did take you to last year, but you would barely remember it at one month old), the pumpkin patch, corn maze and Hallowe'en! Last year, you were much too small to wear your costume. This year will be a completely different story, and we can't wait to dress you up. There is also the Cranberry Festival in Fort Langley which we may take a ride out to on Thanksgiving weekend. All good times ahead, and again, all things we dreamed of taking you to since you were a wee baby in my belly.
