Valentine's Day and The Aquarium

Today, the three of us went to visit Vancouver's Aquarium. We have wanted to take Griffin to the Aquarium for quite a while, and have talked about it since his early days. But we wanted to wait until he was a bit older so he could appreciate it more. And seeing how it was also Valentine's Day, today seemed like the perfect day for us to go as a family. It was well worth the wait, and it seemed that there were many other parents that had the same idea. There were obviously tons of kids there, and most of the babies we saw were all about Griffin's age.

We went right after Griffin's morning nap, and by the time we got there, he was wide-eyed and eager. We saw everything- all kinds of fish, sharks, frogs, dolphins, giant lizards, anacondas, birds and on and on. We carried him around in his Bjorn, and watched his reaction to everything. It is so wonderful to see the world through a child's eyes, and it makes me feel like I am seeing everything for the first time.

After spending a few hours there, Griffin got tuckered out so we called it a day. We expected him to be super exhausted when we got home, but he seemed so excited and happy. Finally, he could no longer force himself to stay awake before he conked out at 7 for bed. We can't wait to go back there in the summer, and when he is a few months older. It was an awesome Valentine's Day.
